The wedding venue will be on the Hornblower Atlantica, a 300 person Yacht provided by City Experiences! The boat will board on Pier 15 in Lower Manhattan's South Street Seaport District. The ceremony will take place on top of the boat while we are docked and before we take off for food, drinks, and dancing around NYC's most iconic monuments. More information can be found here - https://www.cityexperiences.com/new-york/city-cruises/our-fleet/hornblower-atlantica/
Our dress code is black tie optional—think timeless New York elegance with a festive flair. Tuxedos or dark suits for men, and long gowns for women are all perfect. We’ll be on the water, but most of the boat is enclosed and climate-controlled, so you can dress to impress without worrying about the weather or wind. If you have a question on this, please reach out to Mark or Shannon. Please no white as that is reserved for the bride :). At the end of the day, use your best judgement for a NYC themed wedding on the water.
September in NYC is typically pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from 63 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit, perhaps a bit cooler on the water. Eating, drinking and dancing will be inside the boat, however, it can be breezy should you go to the top deck, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater.
Do not worry! The Hornblower is large enough to negate swaying typically present in smaller boats. The East River and Hudson are typically calm waters too. If you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking appropriate medication beforehand. We will also have some handy on the boat.
Yes... next question.
Formal invitations will be sent out in the next couple of months in which you can RSVP directly on this website. We wanted to get Save the Dates out with enough time for our family & friends to plan ahead to be able to celebrate with us!
Yes, the Welcome Party will be at Bar Tontine at the Wall Street Hotel (88 Wall Street) on Friday, September 12th, from 7pm-9pm EST. Please drop by to say hello and share a beverage & light appetizers with friends & family.
Your presence is the greatest gift of all (cheesy but we have to say it because it's true)—especially if you're traveling to celebrate with us! We kindly ask that no physical gifts be brought to the wedding. There will be a place for cards on the boat. If you'd like to contribute to our honeymoon fund for our trip to Croatia, we’d be so grateful—but please know it’s completely optional.
