When we both decided to go to Walsh University in North Canton for college, we knew it was going to be an adventure, but we both didn't know our very first day of school, and in our very first class of the day, our lives would change forever. It was Chemistry 101, Shannon was running behind for her first class of college, as usual, and showed up a few minutes before class started. Shannon always liked to sit in the back row of the class, and so did Landon. When Shannon showed up there was only one seat left in the back row, and it was obviously a seat of fate because it was next to Landon. Short introductions were made and Chemistry 101 would never be the same again. As the semester went on, Shannon and Landon would make more conversation and would even bump into each other in the famous Schervish Dining Centre outside of class. Landon would ask to borrow Shannon's chemistry notes and would become friends on Facebook and instant messenger where we swapped numbers and began to talk more and more. We had a few hangouts and eventually that next summer, Landon came to Cleveland where everything changed and they officially started dating August 17th, 2012.
On our first date in Cleveland back in 2012, we went kayaking, frozen yogurt tasting, and to the Indians game. On September 27th, 2017, Landon told me we were driving to Cleveland to reenact our first date because it was, "Shannon Appreciation Day." Did I think anything of it? Of course not, all signs that something big was going to happen went right over my head. Later that day we went to the Indians game with my family. We had a blast and decided to leave a little early because my dad had to work early in the morning. As we were walking out Landon asked, "where was the exact spot where we first held hands at?" I took his hand to lead him to the exact spot. Once there, he tapped my shoulder and I turned around and saw him on one knee with a ring in his hand. He asked, "Shannon, will you marry me?" I was so shocked and excited I started to cry and say, "YES!," and it was a beautiful moment neither one of us will ever forget.
