Kevin and Shannon first started talking on a dating app in March 2020 before they knew the entire world was going to shut down. After a couple weeks they quickly realized Covid wasn't going anywhere, but that wouldn't stop them from meeting. Kevin told Shannon their first virtual date "was the best virtual date he had ever had". Although Facetime dates may be normal now after the Covid dating era, this made her laugh. They met in person a month later, and the rest is history!

Kevin told Shannon they would be going to a luncheon at The Country Club in preparation for the US Open the first weekend in April. Knowing Kevin's love for golf Shannon didn't think twice about this. Little did she know the first weekend in April would be the best weekend of her life. As the weekend approached excitement was in the air when Shannon's sister gave birth to her nephew Jonathan on April 1st. The next day they were driving to the luncheon and Kevin started driving south not thinking Shannon would notice because her sense of direction. As she became suspicious Kevin explained the luncheon was cancelled due to Covid but he wanted to surprise her with a picnic in Duxbury to utilize their new beach sticker. Kevin pulled up the car to Bumpus Park where he proposed by the water almost 2 years to the day they met.
