It was the third day of our trip to France and it was first day in the campervan following the Tour de France. We arrived at our campsite for the next two nights in Provence, France and we were going to attempt to quickly put our bikes together so we could climb up Mont Ventoux. However, we quickly realized that putting our bikes together was going to take a while since we had never done it before (oops) and it was getting late. So we decided to change our plans and have a chill evening of making dinner and going for a walk on the winery we were camping on to explore. We finish dinner in the van and quickly clean up. As we are walking through the winery, all I can keep saying is how this place feels like a dream. It is golden hour and there is no one else in sight. We get to the top of a small hill and have a beautiful view of Mont Ventoux (the next days stage of the TDF, and the mountain we will climb the next day). As we are soaking in the views, Jaime gets down on his knee and PROPOSES!!!! I throw my phone because it was in my hand and because this was the last thing I was expecting in this moment. I obviously say YES and we walk back to our campsite absolutely elated. We get back to our van and pop a mini bottle of champagne to celebrate. Soon enough the owner of the property we’re camping on comes over and finds out we are newly engaged. He runs into his home and a couple minutes later comes out with his wife, a bottle of prosecco and glasses for us and the other eight people parking their vans there for the night. So we toasted to our engagement with eight of our new German friends. Best proposal EVER!!!!
