Hesitantly, we both tried out the online dating world of eHarmony. We both agreed to a date where Giles took Shannon to the Cabrillo National Monument (Point Loma Lighthouse) in San Diego. We strolled around and chatted for hours (mostly Giles did the chatting as he nervously could not stop ;)) and then Giles took Shannon to a German restaurant to show off his heritage. We hit it off right away and went on many dates in the next few weeks.

Of course, the Point Loma Lighthouse holds a special place in our hearts as that is where we met, so logically Giles thought it would be special to propose there. He covered Shannon's eyes as he took her to the lookout point. With special help from Shannon's best friend, Lidiya, he had a heart made of rose petals laid out, candles, pictures, and music. He got down on one knee, then popped the question. To relive the first date, he then took Shannon to the same German restaurant where family and friends surprised us, including Shannon's family from Santa Barbara!
