We both attended the University of Maine at Fort Kent for our undergraduate nursing degrees. He was a senior and I was a junior. We knew each other through mutual friends but didn't really know each other well. It was the first week back to school at the start of the fall semester. We went out with our friends, danced together, then spent the rest of the evening chatting. We were planning out how we could join the show Big Brother together, pretend we didn't know each other, and help each other get to the end to win. The next night was the back-to-school dance where we met up and spent the night having a good time with our friends. We started to see each other every day after that and the rest is history!

After spending every day together for one month after meeting, we decided to make it official!

My friend, Dakota, took me out for the day so Gaige could prepare for the proposal after work. I came home to the most beautiful scene.. I walked into our home and Gaige had an amazing candlelit dinner waiting for me. He was dressed up and so handsome! I came in, dropped my stuff off, and came into the kitchen. He dropped down to one knee and gave me the sweetest speech, then asked if I would marry and spend the rest of my life with him. Of course I said yes! It was perfect! I am so happy that he proposed in our little home with just the two of us and our puppies.

2014 - Met during the semester of Fall 2014 at UMFK 2015 - Gaige graduated nursing school and we began looking for an apartment to move into together once I graduated too; Gaige started his first nursing job in the ICU 2016 - Moved into our first apartment together and worked together in the ICU at The Aroostook Medical Center (now Northern Light AR Gould Hospital) 2017 - Gaige began applying for CRNA school 2018 - We moved to Raleigh, North Carolina so Gaige could attend Duke University in Durham and I began working in a cardiac ICU at UNC Rex in Raleigh 2019 - Life was really busy for us, but this was the year we adopted our first dog, Rory 2020 - We adopted our second dog, Cash during the start of the pandemic, and I started graduate school for my Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at Georgetown University 2021 - Gaige graduated, we moved back home, and he began working as a CRNA, then we got engaged! 2022 - This is they year I will graduate and most importantly, the year we begin our next chapter together as a married couple! We are so excited to share this with all our friends and family!
