Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! We’re calling it fun formal✨ Think black-tie-optional with a playful twist. If you feel like dressing up in bold colors, sparkles, feathers, or a funky silhouette, go for it! But truly, wear whatever makes you feel great and ready to celebrate. Whether you go all-out or keep it simple, we’ll just be happy to see your face on the dance floor.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

There will be vegetarian and gluten free options available. For any other allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate you.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Upper Shirley offers ample parking. If you'd prefer not to drive, complimentary shuttle buses will be running to and from the Omni Hotel for your convenience. While you can take an Uber to the venue, please note that return rides from the venue are unlikely to be available.

Will the wedding be indoor or outdoor?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will take place outdoors on the lawn, followed by cocktail hour on the deck and patio. Dinner and the reception will be held indoors.

What should I do if I don't make it into the room block?

Answer

If you miss the deadline to reserve a room in our block, reach out to the Omni and mention our wedding anyway—they may be able to accommodate you with our discount in a room outside of our block. If not, We would suggest the Courtyard (Downtown Richmond) which is right down the block from the Omni.

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

We politely request no children attend the ceremony and reception. Thank you in advance for understanding.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

There will be an open bar for guests to enjoy throughout cocktail hour and the reception, however, we do recommend bringing cash or a credit card along if you plan to attend the after-party, as drinks after the reception will not be covered.
