Clint and Shannon met through mutual friends from the volleyball community at Sacramento State although they had been around each other for about a year or so prior to that. Clint's men's team set up Shannon's teams nets and shagged balls during Shannon's home matches. After one of Shannon's matches, Clint messaged her about some exemplary digs that she had and made a comment about a recent political post made by Shannon. From then on their conversations took off and they began to see each other when their busy schedules allowed. Clint asked Shannon to be his girlfriend the day she was going back home to Washington for winter break. Clint traveled up to Washington State to visit Shannon and her family shortly after New Years. From then on their relationship has been nothing but adventure in Sacramento, Tahoe, Washington, Oregon, Shasta, and Colorado, and they cannot wait to continue to travel the world together. 7.30.17 Clint planned a hike to Mount Tallac with some of their close friends and a few of his family members. This was a beautiful hike with an elevation gain of 3,323 feet and a 9.6 mile round trip. Shannon's blood sugar was really low when they got to the summit and Clint wanted to take pictures right away. Shannon got some fuel and was thankful for Clint's Dad who brought Gatorade and some energy gels. After a few minutes of convincing, Clint took Shannon to the best picture spot out near the front of the summit overlooking all of Lake Tahoe with Emerald Bay below in all its glory. At the time Shannon was too tired to notice, but all of their friends were taking pictures. When Clint said he wanted to grab his GoPro out of his back pack, Shannon thought he was taking an unusually long time to retrieve it. She saw him grab the camera and take something else out as well. Immediately, Clint got on his knee (on a sharp rock) and from that moment, their lives changed for the better forever.
