It all began when Shannon started working at Norlite, and Dave, not typically one to start a conversation, found himself breaking the ice with a straightforward, “Hey, new girl, what do you think about ___"? Although his approach was a bit direct, Shannon’s thoughtful response immediately caught his attention, and an instant connection was born. As they worked together on projects, their connection grew into sharing lunch breaks and walks around the facility, where they discussed everything under the sun. They found themselves more excited to arrive early and leave late just to spend more time together. This connection quickly developed into an inseparable friendship. What began with a simple question quickly evolved into something beautiful. Conversations felt endless, each one more meaningful than the last. In these growing moments, they discovered unconditional love. Taking their bond outside of work, while leaving the workplace behind, felt like coming home.

Our first adventures together were filled with excitement and discovery, each moment feeling like a new chapter in our story. Whether it was exploring hidden gems in the city or taking spontaneous trips to places we’d never been, every adventure brought us closer. We found joy in the little things—getting lost in conversation on a quiet walk, sharing our favorite music, or laughing through the unexpected turns along the way. These early moments were full of wonder and connection, setting the stage for a lifetime of adventures we would cherish forever.

Some of the most memorable moments in their relationship unfolded at the racetrack. Between the weekend fun, a few lucky wins, and more than a few losses, the tracks became a special place for them. But it was there that Dave added something unforgettable to the list. In a moment Shannon had always dreamed of, Dave delivered a heartfelt and romantic proposal. With the help of Doug and Nancy, they managed to trick Shannon into drinking "spring water," promising eternal luck, wealth, and happiness for the next chapter of their journey together.
