Is there anything happening Saturday night?

Answer

Yes! Everyone is invited to the welcome dinner from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11 at Woodstock's Pizza in Santa Cruz. Visit the "Schedule" section on our website for more information.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you arrange your own transportation to and from the wedding. If you plan on drinking, we recommend taking an Uber or Lyft. The venue is about 20 minutes away from the Santa Cruz and 45 minutes away from San Jose. Complimentary parking is available at the venue. Please let the attendant know that you are there for the McShane-Robbins wedding.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! Parking is free to all wedding guests. Just let the parking attendant know that you are there for the McShane-Robbins wedding.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive by 3:15 p.m. Everyone will board a train shortly after arrival which will take us to the ceremony location in the middle of the redwood forest. If you miss the train, you will miss the ceremony.

Are the ceremony and reception at the same place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are both at Roaring Camp Railroads. Shortly after you arrive, you will board a steam train which will transport you on a 30-minute ride through the redwood forest to the ceremony location. The ceremony will take place in the middle of the forest in a cathedral redwood grove. After the ceremony, everyone will re-board the train and take it back down to the station. The reception will take place within the hall behind the train station where you first arrived.

Yes, there is a restroom at the ceremony site where the train stops.

If I miss the train can I drive to the ceremony?

Answer

Sadly no, so please be on time! Since the ceremony is taking place in the middle of the forest, the only way to access the spot is by taking the train.

Do I need a train ticket?

Answer

You do not need a ticket. All guests will be ushered onto the train when it's time to leave for the ceremony.

What is the attire?

Answer

We want you to feel comfortable and look great, so we're asking everyone to wear California formal attire. Think elevated sundresses, floral prints and comfortable sandals or wedges. (Stilettos are not recommended.) A button down and slacks, either with a jacket and no tie or no jacket and a tie would look great as well.

Yes! Our wedding reception ends at 10:00 p.m. but we're conitnueing the celebration immediately after at Rosie McCann's Irish Pub & Restaurant in Santa Cruz. Visit the "Schedule" section of our website for more information.
