We met our first year in middle school. Annoying kids, picking on each other throughout class (mostly initiated by Andrew), not knowing that eventually we would become inseparable. We were best friends the following year, tried dating the year after that, then broke up when we learned we would be going to different high schools. But we always stayed in touch, supporting each other through everything as we were growing up and our lives were changing. We would then 'make it official' the summer before junior year of high school and have loved each other through thick and thin ever since.
Years later, Shannin and Andrew started a new chapter in their lives. He joined the Marines late 2017 and before they knew it he was at Parris Island for basic training and she was in Columbia, rereading letters and counting the days until he graduated and a tearful reunion was had. During his short leave trip home in March before returning to training, Andrew proposed to Shannin in one of her favorite places where the two would end up together most summers, by the flower covered walkway at Riverfront Park. A few short months later Shannin made her way down to Pensacola, Florida, a white lace sundress and two wine glasses in hand, and they eloped in the afternoon of August 24th, 2018. Now three years later they are ecstatic to finally be able to celebrate the wedding they've dreamed of with all of their friends and family surrounding them.
