When Shannan and I met, it was pretty clear we would be fast friends. Though she was my manager at the time, we didn't waste time hanging out outside of work. Slowly, we became really close and even had small "friend" dates (hangouts with just each other, thinking we were just friends but really it was obvious that we liked each other but neither of us had the gumption to say anything). Over time, even though each of us had our own relationships and break ups, we got even closer and Shannan became one of my best friends. When Shannan asked me to move in during a time I was looking for either a new place to live or a new roommate, I jumped at the chance. At that time, both of us were single and we had gotten pretty close. There was always light flirting but to me, that was something I kind of did to almost all my friends. Yet, with Shannan, the simplest flirty joke made my heart race. After I moved in, it only took a week for us to realize that there was something there. For that whole week, there was major flirting even at work. Shannan even threw a package of english muffins at me in the most "if they pick on you, they like you" kind of way (although that is not the way you should get others to like you, no matter the age) and it somehow still worked on me. Shannan (still to this day) makes me laugh and that's one of the things that means a lot to me. During my birthday party I had in 2019, Shannan sat next to me and we played a small game of footsies (I know, so cute). Three days later, after constant flirting and light hand holding, Shannan asked me out on a proper date and we have been together ever since. Looking back on it now, Shannan has been my other half for even longer than that and I wouldn't be who I am today without her. I'm so in love with Shannan and all it took was a pack of english muffins to be chucked at my head. - Charley
