Early in our relationship we decided we wanted to travel somewhere new. We started putting $100 each every month into a travel fund. After a couple years we had enough saved and found cheap flights to Rome! The entire trip was magical. The history and art were incredible. The pasta was to die for! And of course the wine and gelato and cannolis were delicious! The best part of the entire trip was our second full day there. In the morning we went to the colosseum and explored that area. In the evening we had some wine and dinner at the top of the Spanish Steps with a gorgeous view of the city. Even though it was getting late, the Spanish Steps were still filled with people. However, at the very top, there are steps leading up to a church that were gated off. So after dinner, we hopped the gate and crawled up to the top of the steps where no one could see us. I stood up so we could take a picture at the very top and when I turned towards Miguel he was on one knee!
