Hey! Guess what! We are getting married!

Chris and Savannah were two typical young people browsing dating/friendship websites swiping left because no one seemed interesting enough to talk to. One day, Savannah stumbled across Chris’ friend request-at first she was hesitant to accept because he was younger than her but something struck her to swipe right-so she did. In the beginning they both talked about how they were just looking for a best-friend to call on. Once they met in person on 04/25/2021, the story dynamic shifted, not only did they become best friends, the two fell in-love. They faced many obstacles together and overcame them, and because of that they now are getting married.

For months after Chris and Savannah moved in together, they had discussed what they both wanted in life. Like many, a picture was painted of how they’d have a house with a few kids, with marriage and harmony-full of happiness. Chris had asked Savannah many questions about marriage and what it meant to her and he also shared his values-specifically through his faith and why a commitment like that was so important. After dabbling in ideas, between proposing at memorial lake, and many original spots they shared special moments, Chris decided to do it on Christmas Day in the evening. For months Chris brainstormed with one of Savannah’s parents, Blair, about how he could really make the proposal special-so he decided since Christmas was a very important holiday to Savannah he would do it then but with a twist. He and Blair would share a secret “gift” they apparently bought. Savannah would ask what it was. Chris would go and tell a story about how the gift was “huge and weighed 600 pounds and he had to ship it to Blair’s house for safe keeping.” Blair would go on about “It’s the thought that counts.” Eventually when Savannah woke up Christmas Morning, she was so excited only to be told she had to wait until the end of Christmas Day. So she did, as impatient as she was. Then, Chris led Savannah into Blair’s home with a low-lit setting with with candles and just the Christmas tree lights on. He told her to search the tree. That is when she found an ornament that said, “Will you marry me?” On it. Savannah turned around only to find Chris on his knee asking her hand in marriage.

We always like to say our story started when we met, but it truly started when we moved in together-officially. Our true story started in Hershey PA. Every time Savannah would come up to visit Chris they’d catch themselves in the heart of Hershey enjoying one of their favorite restaurants-Chipotle. They would also go sight seeing in Hershey often. When it came time to search for an apartment to begin their lives together in, it was simple. They wanted to live in Hershey. After many months of searching they found their home, right in the heart of Hershey. October 15 2021 is when their true story began which is why you will see so many photos of Hershey in the backgrounds.
