We Finally set a Date!

It was a warm summer LA night, full of laughter and smiles with my besties. We were living it up at All Star Weekend, and decided that we would attend an event put on by Jamie Foxx. As we partied to our favorite songs, a group of gentlemen came over to greet us at our table. One of them was Jarell wearing a blazer with a grey hat. At the time, I was peaking but wasn't speaking, he was very quiet and so was I. My girls and I continued our evening with dancing and sang along to all of our favorite songs until our feet hurt. After the party, my friends and his friends decided that we all would be friends, and headed over to Berri’s Café to go grab a late night bite. After being seated, I decided to sit on the end and Jarell took the opportunity to grab the open space next to me. As we all sat and talked I noticed his Jersey accent. I looked at him as he stared into my eyes and from that moment forward it was a natural vibe. Who would have thought that our connection would have connected us for a lifetime.

"Happy Birthday Shaniece!" Oh wow, who would have known that I was in for a REAL treat on my birthday. After waking up and thanking God for allowing me to be on his "wake up list" this day couldn't have been more of a blessing. I rose out of bed and checked instagram to see who was wishing me a "Happy Birthday". I responded to a few people and ran out the house since I had a couple last minute errands to run before my planned escape room event. Once all my errands were completed. I rushed back home because Jarell wanted to take me to dinner at the Intercontinental in San Francisco. So I rushed to get dressed and headed out of the door. Once we got to the hotel, we checked into our room which sat on the high floor overlooking the city. I was so ready to eat, as starvation was upon me. The doorbell then rang and Jarell asked me to come to the door. As I turned the corner, I saw this HUGE bouquet, with 123 long stem roses inside. It was Gorgeous! I was so surprised and very excited, Jarell made sure this night started off more than perfectly! Later on, Jarell left the room to go make sure our reservations was ready, while I sat in the room filling my Instagram up with selfies and videos like any woman would do in this moment. Once he came back, he said, our table is ready! As we were heading up the elevator all I heard was a live band playing music and the sound of conversation. I turned the corner, and the next thing I heard was "SURPRISE"! My face hit the floor, my mom, kids, dad, cousins, friends all were here waiting for me the whole time! About an hour into the dinner, Jarell asked me if I wanted to dance and took me out to the dance floor. The band started playing "Step In the name of Love". Jarell closed my eyes and then whispered in my ear, "do you trust me" and I said "yes". Next thing you know, I heard people screaming and I opended my eyes and all I saw was him in that moment. He asked me to spend the rest of his life with him, and of course I SAID, YES!
