The Proposal
Tomas proposed to Shanice on March 26, 2021 - but the plan had been in motion for months. He had originally planned to propose in Aruba in October 2020, but when he realized their friend Tigran would also be there, he decided to wait. Tomas wanted the moment to be private—just the two of them.
A few months later in Costa Rica, Tomas secretly arranged something much bigger: a visit to Territorio de Zaguates, a sanctuary home to thousands of rescue dogs. At the time, the sanctuary was closed to the public, but Tomas managed to pull a few strings to make it happen. Even their driver was in on the surprise, telling Shanice they were heading to a volcano before casually suggesting they stop by the sanctuary to see if they might get in.
After a pack walk through the mountains, they returned to the base where a helicopter was waiting. As they posed with a few pups, Shanice turned around—and Tomas was down on one knee singing, “It’s a love story, baby just say yes.”
And she did.
