How We Met

First comes Instagram, then comes marriage.

One day, I got a follow notification on Instagram that @shaniceletrel followed me. It caught me off guard as to why she followed me because of how gorgeous she was. I just followed her back and for a week, I was trying to figure her out. 'How old is she? Why doesn't she have a man? WHY IS SHE FOLLOWING ME?' Then, I told my brother Kendall that I was thinking about reaching out to her, but still I talked myself out of it. On February 24, 2019, I contemplated on responding to one of her Instagram stories and I finally decided to message her. I did my best to not come off like I wanted to be with her and I haven't went a day without talking to her since. -Montana So

The Proposal

On August 25, 2019, Montana was invited to speak at the church that I attend (#RefugeSTRONG). My family made prior commitments to attend his next engagement and this was it. My dad, grandmother, brother, sister, and best friends were all at church on that day. Montana's mom was also present. I was super excited to have my family with me in church and that his mom would finally meet my family. Little did I know that it would be the second best day of my life. After Montana finished preaching, he asked to pray for me. In front of my entire church family. If you know me, you know that I hate tons of attention. So, I was a little shocked! At the end of his prayer, Montana said "and my one last request is that when I ask her to marry me, she'll say yes" (cue all the tears). -Shanice Brice
