Darian and I met in 2010 while working at Walmart. I remember like it was yesterday when Darian came and introduced himself to me. He told me his name and asked the typical question: "Can I have your number?" I was new at Walmart, so of course many guys asked me that same question, and I turned them down. However, there was just something so different in Darian that made me say yes. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of the rest of our lives. Darian worked in the electronics department, while I worked in the grocery department. Somehow, he would always find his way to my aisle at least ten times within his shift just to say hello, or to tell me how beautiful I looked that day. Throughout the entire year, he was persistent and determined to make sure that he showed me how much he really liked me and wanted something serious with me. I guess this is what they call the chase! Before the new year came, he asked me if I wanted to make it official and bring in the New Year together. That is exactly what we did. On January 1, 2012, we officially started dating. When we first met, he always told me that I was the most beautiful woman in the world. Today, he still tells me that I am the most beautiful woman in the world. It's amazing that after so many years, that the love still remains.

Whenever he asked, I often mentioned to Darian how much I preferred to have an intimate and private proposal. He knew that I didn't like cliché things, so he chose to skip Valentine’s Day. On February 16, 2018, we were preparing to go see Black Panther. Before walking out the door, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. When I saw how beautiful my ring was, I screamed! It was literally everything I ever wanted in a ring, and I didn't even have to tell him. Somehow, he just knew. I was so happy that he asked me to be his wife, and of course I said yes! We are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.
