TWO ARE BETTER THAN ONE

Tyrone was in the Scholars Program, while Shani was in the General Studies Program. Though we only saw each other in school, a quiet friendship formed one that never extended beyond the classroom walls. What Tyrone didn’t realize at the time was that Shani held a sweet, unspoken crush, happy just to call him a friend. In 1992, Tyrone left Overbrook to attend Bartram High School, where he graduated in 1993. Shani would finish at Overbrook the following year, in 1994. Life carried us in different directions, and for many years, our journeys never crossed. But destiny has a way of bringing two hearts back to where they belong. In July of 2009, after more than a decade apart, we found each other again and the true beginning of our love story was written.
