Terrance was working in New York for a week and had drinks with an old colleague (Hi Noelle!) who thought it would be a great idea for him to meet one of her friends. She quickly texted Shani inquiring if she was "still single"; thankfully the answer was yes. That following Saturday they met for coffee and chatted for hours. Shani loved how easy it was to talk to him, and Terrance appreciated that she offered to get pizza when she realized he hadn't eaten much that day. They've spoken every day since.
Miami has always been a sentimental place for Terrance & Shani. While they both traveled between Chicago & New York City to visit each other, Miami was the first place they vacationed outside of their respective cities. Miami also happens to be where Terrance first said those three magical words "I love tacos" ;) On their most recent trip, while celebrating Shani's 30th birthday, Terrance insisted on making a pit stop before dinner. The car stopped a few blocks short of the restaurant, and Terrance guided Shani onto the beach. She immediately spotted a beautiful picnic setup, though had no idea it was for them. When they got closer to the setup, which was strategically placed in the same spot Terrance first said 'I love you', he surprised Shani by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him. She said yes, and they've been happily locked down together during COVID ever since.
