How We Met: Motorcity Meets The BayouHow We Met: Motorcity Meets The Bayou

Her Point of View: From the moment we met at work in Detroit in November 2018, God was quietly writing a love story far greater than either of us could have imagined. At the time, Nyle had traveled from Baton Rouge to Detroit to work on a campaign, while I was working as an office assistant. What we didn’t realize then was that God had already placed the person perfectly meant for each of us right in front of us — despite us living 15 hours apart. Nyle dropped subtle hints that he was interested, but somehow I missed every single one. It wasn’t until a coworker finally said, “Girl, he wants your number,” that we exchanged numbers — and from that moment on, our story truly began. Since the day we first spoke, there hasn’t been a single day we haven’t talked. A few months later, I visited Baton Rouge for the first time, and during that trip, Nyle officially asked me to be his girlfriend. From the very beginning, he made it clear that he knew I was going to be his wife. His confidence, consistency, and intentional love created something that felt safe, genuine, and heaven-sent. For a year and a half, we continued our relationship long distance while we both completed our Bachelor’s degrees. Through every phone call, visit, sacrifice, and late-night conversation, our bond only grew stronger. Eventually, I moved to Baton Rouge to pursue my Master’s degree and proudly graduated from Southern University and A&M College — which also happens to be Nyle’s alma mater. Looking back, we know our story could only have been orchestrated by God. Through every mile, every conversation, every sacrifice, and every answered prayer, He remained at the center of it all. Our love story is built on faith, friendship, consistency, and unconditional love and we are committed to keeping God and love at the center of our marriage forever. ❤️ His Point of View: From my point of view, our story feels like proof that God places people in your life exactly when they are meant to arrive. When I came from Baton Rouge to Detroit for work in 2018, I never imagined I would meet the woman I would one day marry. But from the very beginning, there was something special about her — her kindness, her heart, and the way she made every moment feel easy and genuine. What started as friendship slowly became something neither of us could ignore. Through every season, every challenge, and every milestone, she became my peace, my best friend, and the person I could always count on. Looking back now, I can see that God was writing our story long before we understood it ourselves. Choosing her forever is the easiest and greatest decision I’ve ever made, and I cannot wait to begin this next chapter together as husband and wife.
