June 26, 2014 - Pirate Adventure. Pirate Adventure is Seton Hall University's college orientation. We happened to be in the same group since we were both going to be athletes in the Fall of 2014. Quickly, we hit it off. At the end of the weekend, Shane gave Kat "the best hug ever! We fit just like a puzzle piece" and we still do (see picture above!) Throughout the rest of the summer, we texted and talked on the phone until 4:00 a.m. almost every day. Once we got back to Seton Hall in the fall of 2014, we started dating and the rest... was history.

If you know us, you know how we feel about the Fair Haven Dock. It's our FAVORITE spot. We named our dog after it (Haven), and when we lived in NJ it was our favorite place to be. It was only fitting that the beginning of the rest of our lives happened in the very spot that brings us so much comfort, peace, and happiness. The day started dreary, with storms in the forecast the whole day. On our way to "family Christmas photos" we took a turn onto Fair Haven Road. I presumed since we were in the area, we would have to stop at our favorite spot - so I didn't think much of it. When we arrived at the dock, there was a photographer - but I thought she was taking photos of the boats (lol). We walked to the end of the dock when I realized there was a photographer right behind us - that's when I knew. Shane got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him in the very place I have always dreamed of getting proposed to! So - it's true, Shane sure does make dreams come true!
