FAQs

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP on this website using the RSVP tab by January 16, 2026. All invited guests in your party will be listed for selection. If a name isn’t listed, that means the person was not included on the original guest list and, unfortunately, can’t be added to the final count for the ceremony or reception. We kindly ask that you do not send your RSVP by text, phone call, etc.

Question

How do I book my room?

Answer

To take advantage our discounted group room rate, please be sure to book your stay through the "Book Your Travel" page. You will need a credit card to reserve your room though no initial deposit is required.

Question

Can I bring a "Plus One"/Additional Guests?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate with our family and closest friends! To help us create a more intimate and memorable experience, we’re only able to accommodate plus-ones who have been previously discussed and confirmed with The Downings. If you’re traveling with a guest who won’t be attending the ceremony or reception, they are, of course, free to enjoy the Grand Moon Palace Resort and all it has to offer. We’ll look forward to connecting with them at other times during our stay.

Question

When should I book my hotel and flight?

Answer

To reserve your room at the resort, guests can book through our booking link on the “Book Your Travel” page no later than January 16, 2026. For flights, we recommend booking by March 2026 to avoid last-minute price increases for travel to Cancun from the U.S.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, we kindly ask all guests to wear shades of brown. Please see the Dress Code tab for more details, including color palettes and style inspiration.

Question

What time should I arrive for the wedding ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. Please arrive at the beach ceremony location no later than 5:45 PM.

Question

Do I need a passport to be able to attend?

Answer

Yes! A valid passport is required to enter Mexico and to return to the United States. As a friendly reminder, please ensure your passport is valid for the entire duration of your trip and does not expire before or during your travel dates.
