WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

We were unknowingly schoolmates back in 2001 at Kettering Middle School. After meeting each other in church, a couple of years later, we became good friends. Shortly after graduating high school, we started to date. As timing was not on our side, we later decided to go our separate ways. While apart our hearts were still connected. We both knew that if we ever got the chance to reconnect we would not take it for granted.

On April 1, 2021, Shanelle slid into my Instagram DM's. We have been together almost every day since. We began dating and quickly realized that the spark we once had was still there. On October 29, 2021, during our trip to Denver, Colorado, I planned a surprise horse and carriage ride for us. After our horse and carriage ride downtown, we went to dinner and it was there that I asked Shanelle to be my girlfriend! She said YES!

After dating for a year and a half, and 10 months as an "official" couple, on August 20, 2022, Malik proposed. It was my birthday weekend and I had already made plans to go to karaoke. The setting was Wok and Roll in DC and the song selection was "Until the end of time" by Justin Timberlake featuring Beyonce. In front of some of our close friends and family, Malik and all of his nerves got down on bended knee as I sang my heart out. It wasn't until the room got silent that I knew something was going on. After the performance of my life, I had to look over and see Malik waiting on me to notice him down there, ring in hand. Filled with emotion and happiness, I said YES! We're excited to celebrate the next chapter in our lives with you. Cheers to forever. See you at the Bay!
