We met in the spring of 2018 while doing an internship where we learned how to run a house painting business. Shane's twin actually recruited me for this internship. Even though we spent time together and had a lot of fun as interns, neither of us knew that we had actually met the person we were going to spend forever with. That came just a few short years later.
It was everyone's favorite time of 2020, quarantine. We had started talking here and there catching up on how the past years had been. In late April, Shane broke his collarbone, and being the great friend I am, sent him a box of snacks. This sparked the daily conversations, good morning texts, and really led to the beginning of our relationship. Food is definitely the way to Shane's heart. A little over a month later, it was official. Who could've guessed a box of snacks would lead to a first date, which would be the beginning of the rest of our lives.
Shane and I had plans to go to North Country Brewery for our One Year Anniversary because that is where we had our first date. When our plans fell through three hours before we were going to leave, Shane decided today was going to be the day. He already had a plan to do it the following weekend, but he could not wait any longer. During dinner at Fogo de Chao, Shane gave no hints on to what he had planned for later. He even acted like he had no plans by asking me what I wanted to do after dinner. We ended up going to one of the outlooks in Mount Washington. I still had no idea Shane was going to propose even when he said something about marriage. Then....he reached for his pocket... June 11, 2021 is a day neither one of us will forget.
