Facebook stalking works... at least it did for Shane! Its true. Shane’s Facebook message to Sean is what first drew these two together. But let’s be clear, with no mutual friends in common at the time, Sean did his share of reciprocal stalking. All seemed normal with Shane and the two met for the first time at Elephant Bar in November of 2013. Since that initial meeting Shane and Sean have been inseparable. Their relationship has strengthened through both good and difficult times.
The proposal happened as Shane and Sean set sail for an 11-day cruise in the Western Caribbean. It ended up being perfect, but it was actually Shane's backup, backup plan! PLAN A: After taking a red eye flight from Las Vegas to Ft. Lauderdale, Shane planned for the two to check their bags and enjoy the sunrise at a nearby state park on the ocean. That beautiful, tranquil, ocenside setting would be where Shane proposed. Well.... Sean didn't sleep on the overnight flight and had no desire to play along with the plan (idiot!). PLAN B: Shane, being quick on his feet, pivoted and thought it would be great to pop the question on the balcony of their cabin on the ship. Turns out the balcony faced the warehouse and there was a constant chorus of beeps from trucks in reverse, the hum of forklifts and pier workers shouting as the ship was loaded with supplies for the journey. PLAN C: As Shane and Sean got to their cabin, Shane wasted no time. He jumped into action and positioned a camera in the room so the two could document the start of their long vacation. After seemingly posing for some photos, Shane professed his love to Sean and asked for his hand in marriage. Sean, completely shocked and not expecting a thing, had tears welling up in his eyes. After taking a moment to realize this was happening... Sean happily accepted Shane's proposal. As for the camera that Shane conveniently positioned perfectly, it was recording video the whole time to capture the life-changing moment!
