What's the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding celebrates the Virginia Summer, and our theme is farm-fresh and rustic with sunflowers and navy, complimented by slate grey, greens and browns. We kindly request semi-formal attire so that you look beautiful, yet comfortable against a backdrop of green, rolling-hills. Black tie is optional.

What's parking like?

Answer

Ample parking is available for our wedding guests at Sunny Slope! But please do consider making Lyft arrangements post-reception if need be. We want everyone to get home or to hotel safely!

Are the ceremony and reception at the same place?

Answer

Yes! Both our ceremony and reception are on Sunny Slope Farm. Ceremony begins at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The reception is scheduled to end at 10 p.m.

How far is the recommended hotel from the venue?

Answer

Really close! Hampton Inn Harrisonburg-University is less than 15 minutes away and is the recommended hotel by our venue.

Is the venue outdoors?

Answer

Yes, we really wanted to have an outdoorsy wedding: Sunflowers, the Shenandoah valley and all. Sunny Slope Farm is a quaint 925-acre farm in Harrisonburg (in the heart of the Shenandoah valley).

What are Virginia summers like?

Answer

They can be hot during the day; However, the valley tends to be drier, and breezy, fluctuating between 60 and 70 degrees in the evenings. Our reception is tented with a high ceiling and lighting.
