I'll be honest, this isn't a straightforward answer and is more so a process that went on for almost a whole semester. Shane always came to the gym where I worked to sit in the hottub, but he never said hi or anything. This went on for pretty much the whole fall semester. Fast forward to the following January, when spring semester was starting. Some friends and I decided to go to Mingle's for fishbowl Thursday's, as did Shane and his friends. They arrived before I did and were sitting at a table right inside the door. I noticed them but I just kind of walked by. As I walked by though, I heard a very loud "Hey Shane, there's your girl!" I went about my night like I didn't hear anything but as the night went on, I just couldn't quit thinking about it. With my professional facebook stalking skills (jk, it was actually pretty easy because turns out we had a ton of mutual friends), I found him and sent him a friend request. The next day he sent me a message that said "Hey, how's it goin?" and the rest is pretty much history!
The day started off like any regular Saturday morning. Shane and I had decided we wanted to go hike Medicine Bow Peak so we got ready and headed up there. When we got there, it was super SUPER windy, like 70-75mph gusts. We made it about half way up and just decided it wasn't worth it. We went back down and set my hammock up by the lake to just "hang out" (see what I did there). After some time, I was getting cold and Laramie (our doggo) was getting annoyed of not doing anything. We decided to pack up and head back home. As we stood up, Shane's phone fell out of his pocket and landed in the water. I quickly told him that it fell and that it was in the water, but he didn't seem concerned at all. We were both holding onto the blanket we were using so I just ripped the blanket out of his hand and as I did, a ring box fell on the ground. He looked at me and said. "that's more expensive than my phone." I guess that's why he wasn't worried about his phone sitting in the water. So after ruining the surprise (and getting his phone out of the water), Shane got down on one knee and asked if I would be his wife :)
