In early May 2019, Shane and Delaney were both preparing to open up F45 studios when they met at F45 Induction in El Segundo, California. They chatted, followed each other on Instagram, and said their goodbyes. Keeping in touch, Shane and his team threw out an opportunity for Delaney to join their team in the DMV if she ever had the interest of getting out of Austin. October/November 2019, Delaney decided to entertain the idea and visit the area. If you know Delaney, realistically she wasn’t going to move but it was fun to go imagine what this new life would look like. Shane was a fantastic tour guide; most of the spots Shane showed her that weekend are some of Delaney’s favorite spots in the area. Hence the entire wedding weekend revolving around The Wharf. They hugged goodbye and Delaney told Shane to come visit. Then HE ACTUALLY DID. About a week later, Shane texted Delaney to arrange travel plans and he was in Austin the first week of December. Shane and Delaney got into a good rhythm of navigating the travel of a long distance relationship until the world was hit with Covid in March 2020. Months went by without travel, which started to feel like torture. The conversation began about which of them was going to be the one who moves. Shane had expressed his interest in Austin. However, all the right things fell into place since Delaney entertained the idea of moving to the DMV, they figured why not give that a go. October 2020, they made a 22 hour drive from Austin to Arlington and have never looked back.
