We met online — and yes, before anyone rolls their eyes — we actually did it the responsible way. We spent a whole month talking, laughing, and figuring each other out before I (Cristy) finally convinced him that I was, in fact, worth meeting in person. Our first date was June 3rd at Martin City Brewery in Leawood, Kansas — where we discovered two very important things: we both take our pizza seriously, and we are extremely competitive. That competitive streak only escalated when we headed to Dave & Buster’s and realized we were equally committed to winning… even if it meant a little playful trash talk. Three years later, after countless laughs, adventures, and probably a few rematches, Shane decided he couldn’t imagine letting me go — and I realized there is no one else who could love me, challenge me, and cheer me on the way he does. So what started with pizza and arcade games turned into forever — and now, we’re saying “I do” to being teammates for life. 💍
