Millie was working in the Labor and Delivery unit of the hospital and Shane was working in the Urgent Care Center. Millie had to come in to do something at work and while walking by the Urgent care center she saw Shane. They didn't think much of it until a few months later when they were all at a mutual friends place and quickly became great friends.

Millie quickly fell in love with Shane. The way he laughed, the way he smiled, the incredible way he made her feel. Millie remembers the day vividly that Shane first said I love you. It was a fall day and they were sitting together in her house. Nothing was being said and Shane grabbed Millie's hand and told her that she was beautiful and the words Millie had been waiting to hear left his mouth. Millie's eyes lit up and of course she said I love you right back.

Right before they had been dating for a year and half, Shane took Millie to Coldstone Creamery. This was the place they shared their first date at and both had a love for cakebatter ice cream (which is rare to find). Shane had his ice cream in a waffle bowl and little did Millie know that the ring was hidden underneath. In the middle of a huge bite of that wonderful ice cream, Shane got up and looked at Millie as if he was going to ask her the most important question of her life. He got down on one knee and lifted up his waffle bowl to bring out the most beautiful ring Millie had ever seen. With tears in her eyes, Millie quickly kissed him and of course, said YES!
