A long time ago, in a Disney park far, far away, Shane was working at Jedi Training Academy and Caitlin was working at Star Tours when they first met. But Shane transferred to Animal Kingdom and then Magic Kingdom, and Caitlin cross trained at the Great Movie Ride, and they didn't see each other for a few years. By chance they reconnected and Shane asked Caitlin on a date to Disney Springs in the summer of 2016. On September 8th he asked her to be his girlfriend, and they've been together ever since!

Shane planned to propose in the spring of 2020. Caitlin was directing a production of Tuck Everlasting at the Moonlight Players Theater, which was an important place to them in the course of their relationship, so he planned to propose during the curtain call of the final performance and then celebrate with family and friends during the cast party-turned-engagement party. But like a lot of other plans for 2020, the show was canceled. Instead, Shane popped the question during a walk in a park in downtown Celebration in April 2021.
