When one door closes, another one opens

We have known each other as long as I can remember. Since we were in diapers. I have been in love with Luke since I was a little girl. We dated a few months in high school when we were 17. Then we dated in 2012 when we were 29 for 11 months. I never got over that break up, I loved him with all my heart. I always wondered what if... we just clicked, everything was so easy, smooth and natural. I wasn't use to easy. I am glad we always remained friends and could talk still about anything and everything when we would connect. We were both having rough times and very unhappy in our current lives, we had been for a long time, when we ran into each other in July 2016. We talked awhile about life and everything going on. He hugged me and told me he regretted us ending back in 2013. A month later after everything blew up on us I messaged him to see if I could come talk. I went to talk to him about stuff and how everything had just fallen apart. We took a ride and talked, he ended up kissing me at his mom's ...that was it for me. We spent as much time together as we could after that and I moved in with him on Oct 6th 2016. We have been together ever since. It has been the happiest I've ever been. Adding our little Leah to the family made it even more perfect. He is the love of my life and I can't wait to say I do

He completely surprised me. He says he isn't very sneaky but I did not see it coming. I knew it would happen someday. It was Christmas day, we had just watched the kids open their presents. I thought I was going to help him move the woodstove in the shed. I put on my coat. He came out and said he isn't very sneaky then got down on his knees and asked me to be his wife. I was so shocked I had delayed crying. I have been wanting this for so long and he completely took me off guard. I will never forget that moment, it was perfect. Best christmas ever.
