Shannon & Joey
Our Story
We met at UT during a campus ministry trip to Max Patch—Joey was a junior and Shannon was a freshman. We quickly became good friends as Joey frequently drove us to taekwondo during the semester. Life eventually took us in different directions, but we reconnected years later and learned we were both still interested in getting to know each other more. Our first date was Fazoli’s (with a coupon, of course) and seeing The Lion King at the dollar theater.
After 3.5 years, we started long distance as Shannon went abroad for grad school. And when home for break a year later, we decided to celebrate Joey’s birthday with a picnic at Max Patch….or so Shannon thought. While rushing through photos because it was cold, Joey “took off his jacket”—and pulled out a ring.
It was the perfect proposal—private, meaningful, and in a place that brought our story full circle. The best surprise ever and we can't wait to spend forever together. And we can't wait to celebrate with you all!

Semiformal attire, jacket optional. Our wedding colors are light purple and blue with hints of light pink. Our wedding will be outdoors and it will be warm, so we recommend block heels or wedges for the ladies. For the gentlemen, we kindly ask that you avoid jeans or shorts
