The Next Adventure Awaits

On a 5 day river trip down the Gates of Ladore on the Green River, I was swimming/almost drowning down the biggest rapid of the trip. Little did I know, Joe was waiting patiently with my kayak right-side-up at the end of the rapid as I struggled to survive! I swam to my boat laughing because I was so thankful I was alive. At that moment Joe thought, ‘this is the girl I’m gonna marry, she swims the worst rapid of the trip and comes out of it with a smile on her face’ We had the best ‘high school romance’ on the 5 days of our trip. We left the trip going our separate directions, Joe to southern Utah and myself to Jackson, Wyoming. He went home telling his whole family he met the girl he was going to marry!! Meanwhile, I thought it was a quick River romance and I’d never see this guy again! Little did I know, we would date long distance, he would sucker me into helping him build up our yurt in southern Utah. Moving temporarily to Hawaii for 3 months for a fun nursing travel assignment. He proposed at the most beautiful waterfalls in Hawaii in February. We moved permanently to Kanab, Utah, had our beautiful little girl, Emmylou on August 29th, 2020. We built our new house in Kanab and are ready to be married to continue building our life exploring southern Utah

ZION: The first hike Joe ever took me on was not only a hike… It was a death sentence. I think that was his way of deciding if he’s actually going to continue to date anyone or not! He tells me one day ‘Shana let’s go on a hike in Zion’. In my mind I thought yes, that sounds great! So we started off on a very well maintained trail. That was until we turned left, went under a rope that said NO trespassing… And started climbing up the side of a cliff. Yes that is Lady Mountain. Do not go unless you know someone who knows this trail. Because it’s not a trail… It’s a cliff with rocks you barely can stand on. Yes, that was our first ‘hike’ GRAND TETON: My dream was to climb the Grand Teton in Jackson, Wyoming. I grew up in Wyoming and lived in jackson for five years. Never did I climb the Grand Teton… Until I met Joe. I told him about my dream and he made it happen within a few months. We climbed the Teton with some of our greatest friends and we made memories that will never be forgotten. That was only one of many adventures we will do together.
