We met in middle school. Shana had just moved to North Carolina and was placed in Mr. Rook's homeroom. Dillon walked in and she thought he was the coolest boy she had ever seen. They didn't interact much, but before he changed classes for the day, he offered her a piece of gum. Delighted, she took it with a smile. Shana's friend saw this interaction and asked for a piece as well. Dillon said "No.." with no hesitation. Feeling slighted by his reaction and wanting to tease Shana, she whispered "I guess that's going to be your new boyfriend now." 14 years later, not only was Shana's friend correct, but they are also getting married in August of 2026.
