The house will be pre-stocked with enough food/booze for the 5 nights we are there. There will be a two catered dinners sponsored by myself and Derek, the night we all arrive and the night of the ceremony. For the rest of the time, help yourselves to anything and everything. All food and beverage is for everyone so if you're hungry, eat, and if you're thirsty, drink! We will also be relying on family members to share in the duties of preparing breakfasts and dinners. There are two very large kitchens in the house and a large grill that is for everyone's use. As for beverages there will be a bartender and a waiter on site until 6pm each day to prepare and bring you beverages by the pool :)
It is my understanding that Mazatlan is actually very safe! But when traveling in any third-world country, and even some parts of the United States, it is always best to BE SMART and be cautious! And if you're at all worried, we've made it so that you don't have any reason to leave the property :) Below, I have gathered some articles that I found helpful regarding travel safety and traveling tips. https://mexicodave.com/mazatlan-travel https://travel.usnews.com/Mazatlan_Mexico/ https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g150792-Activities-oa0-Mazatlan_Pacific_Coast.html https://www.mazatlantours.org/mazatlan-safety.htm https://www.asherfergusson.com/mexico/safety-tips/
Shuttles will be provided for everyone in our group. It is a 30-35 minute drive from the airport. Beverages will be provided on the shuttle, and food when you arrive to the house. The group name for our party is "Yates/Egbert".

There are several things to do within 15 minutes of the property. I am told Uber and Lyft both have a presence in Mazatlan, as well as taxis. We also plan to rent a small SUV to have at the house in case anyone wants to use it to go on any adventures or should we need a grocery store run.
That is completely up to you! We have a few things planned, but aside from the welcome party and the ceremony, everything is completely optional. The house is like a small hotel. It has a big beautiful courtyard with a pool and waterslide. The beach is right there for seashell hunting, sunbathing, building a sandcastle, or reading a book. I am hoping to have beach volleyball setup for us, as well as other yard games if possible. So you can hang out at the house all week and enjoy just relaxing, you can go on a zipline adventure, or you can spend a day in town checking out the local market and doing some sightseeing! Check out the "Things To Do" section for some things I've come across that are nearby the property or in town. The property website has good information as well.
We are trying to keep this as simple as possible, but of course we are having a celebration and I know everyone loves a good excuse to get dressed up. So if you want to get dolled up, please do. If you want to be comfortable, please be. All I ask is that you are clean and presentable for all the pics we’re going to take! Derek and I will be looking schnazzy and going barefoot for the ceremony on the beach. For the party afterwards, we will throw on some flip-flops. I imagine the party will take place mostly around the pool and the grass/sand yard to the side of the house.
