High school sweethearts. A phrase you hear and it has the sweetest sound. Well, that’s us! He’d tell you that he noticed me first, but I promise you, it was I that noticed him first. At the time he was the “hot older senior guy,” and I was a sophomore. We lived in the same neighborhood, so we rode the same school bus. It was months later after noticing him, that he sat across from me one day on the bus. He spoke to me, and minutes later I was putting his number in my phone. From that moment on, it turned into going to the bus stop early to see each other longer, to him getting off at my bus stop, even though it was out of the way, just to walk me home! “People who are meant to be together find their way back. They may take a few detours, but they’re never lost.”
Our 9 year anniversary was approaching and we wanted to take a vacation. We decided to go back to Florida. The day of our 9 year anniversary he proposed. He took me to a beautiful mansion with old fashioned architecture; a museum with beautiful botanical gardens and maze outside. I absolutely LOVE museums and the architecture and decor of the previous eras. (Hint: wedding venue vibes). His aunt toured us around the gardens (and was aware of his plan), took photos of us everywhere (to throw me off), and ended with him proposing outside in the gardens. It was the sweetest thing, and he cried! That night we finished it off eating dinner with a view and night stroll along the beach and Ocean Drive. We can’t wait to celebrate this day with you! “I choose you, and I’ll always choose you over and over again. Without pause, without doubt, in a heart beat, I’ll always keep choosing you.”
