How We Met

Once upon a time, there was a single girl looking for love ...

Shamikka's Story We met in a single's group. I noticed Jason right away when he joined the group. He was smart, intelligent, extremely handsome, and also the only guy in the group NOT in my dm. I reached out to him to tell him I appreciated it when he contributed to the group's discussion and he should participate more. He said his job kept him busy and he could only participate when he got a chance. A few days later he messaged me and asked to meet for coffee. I remember being so nervous about the meeting. I spotted him sitting down wearing a white shirt, red tie, and grey slacks, reading a newspaper. I was so relieved he looked like his photos. We got coffee and talked about everything from Anime, Beliefs, Family, etc. Time seemingly passed during our conversation, that we didn't notice that Starbuck's was ready to close. We went for a walk around Atlantis and I remember thinking that this was something different; something special and being excited about where it would lead.

Our Engagement

Perfect Timing ...

Jason's Story I already knew I wanted to marry Shamikka, I was just not sure of the where and when. I had planned to propose on a trip that we took with some friends. However, the trip did not go as planned. It was November 3rd, 2019 and we had plans to go to dinner as we had not been out in a while. We went to a restaurant in Bahamar and had a really great time. Shamikka went to the restroom, and I sprinted to the car to retrieve the celebration photo explosion box that I had put together for this moment. I then had to sprint back to meet her. I then spotted her sitting on the bench by the pond with her back to me. I tapped her on her shoulder and presented her with the gift. Shamikka proceeded to open the box to reveal that each layer in the box represented a timeline of our relationship complete with decorations and photos of us over the years. As she got to the final layer of the box, there was the ring box. I then dropped to my knee and picked up the ring box. It was at this exact moment that the waterworks and light show began at the pond in front of us. I asked Shamikka " If she would make the happiest man alive by marrying me." I then opened the ring box revealing the ring. Shamikka was overcome with joy, excitement, and awkward laughter as she said yes.
