We met at the University of Oklahoma during seasons of transition—William as he was preparing to graduate, and Shalom while navigating a soccer ACL injury. From the very beginning, timing didn’t seem to make sense, and we both tried to fight what was clearly forming between us. But God had completely other plans. What started as a friendship quickly became something deeper. We grew into best friends—the true male and female versions of each other. We finish each other’s sentences, balance one another’s strengths, and constantly push each other to be better. Since meeting, we’ve grown side by side through every season of life, from Oklahoma to Colorado and finally settling down in Texas. For much of our relationship, we were long distance up until May 2024. While it was incredibly challenging, it brought us closer together (and much closer to FaceTime). Through it all, our passion—for each other, for the gym, for our goals, and for parenting our one-year-old dog, Diesel—has been what fuels us. Our love is something we cherish deeply. Above all, we are grateful to God for faithfully leading our steps, even when we didn’t understand the path. We are excited to begin this marriage with Him at the center and cannot wait to celebrate this special day surrounded by the people we love most.
