TINDER. This dating/hook up app brought us together. We matched a couple of days before, I waited for him to message me while I swiped right looking for an eligible bachelor to take me out for a free meal. He messaged me, "Hey beautiful", and the conversation started. We were both pretty eager to meet and so we decided he would pick me up for a date tomorrow night. Eager I got dressed the next day, waiting for him to come. My phone rings and i run out the door and get in his car "Hey, lets go!" I said. He just stared at me, "that's it?" he asked confused. He drove out my driveway "what?" I ask, he was surprised with my lack of concern for getting in a car with a stranger. We get to Outback Steakhouse and I can't do much but check him out, he opened my door, and walked me in with so much swagger, all of this gave me doubts. But the night went on smoothly. It was honestly very fun, and he was interested in spending more time with me after dinner. Away we drove to my favorite park, this is where we spent hours talking and this night, under the stars, I'm pretty sure we fell in love. ---- September 5th 2018 A couple of days pass by of us spending everyday together; and this day he requests to meet my mother. This day he asked me to be his girlfriend. This day, we started forever.
What an exhausting day this was. Just the night before we were up way past midnight having drinks with his father who had just arrived from PA. Only to wake up the next day to groceries and shopping. Tyler and I had been debating whether we would go out for dinner but weren't sure if the exhaustion would overcome us and send us to sleep or if we would actually make it to a restaurant. We are done with our errands and evening sneaks past us when we realize we need to decide now if we are planning to eat out. To my surprise he says Longhorn Steakhouse. Excited we both got dressed for dinner. Only to come to leave and realize his dad wouldn't be joining us, the exhaustion must have caught up with him. We get to the restaurant, the bottom of our pants soaked from the flooding of the thunderstorm outside. We sat down near a window and as the water crashed on the glass all I could do was look him. He ordered us wine and two prime rib meals. I knew it was a special night but I was still in for a surprise. He went away for about 10 min to speak to a manager about their lack of cinnamon butter for their bread and I overlooked it because I was already eating the bread and distracted by the thought of my upcoming prime rib dinner. This would have been my first clue to the night. After dinner arrived we ate and I let him know that I was considering skipping desert to finish my food, and for the first time he pleaded that I take the rest to go and that I get some dessert. Suspicion kicked in but I still couldn't think that these were his plans. I did think of the setting as being one that would be perfect for a proposal but I didn't see it coming so soon. Out came the waiter with my strawberry short cake singing happy birthday and you can only guess how confused I was. "its not my birthday". But I look down at the plate with red jam spelling "Will you marry me" look up at Tyler with tears in his eyes while I form my own. I look back down at my ring, I scream "Yes!".
