Wedding Party

Gabby Seberger

Maid of Honor

I first met Shakira in second grade, and before I knew it childhood games at recess led me to a sister for life. For almost 20 years now, we have supported each other through school, first crushes, and living in different cities. Once in high school, I was heartbroken over some boy or other, and when I showed up to Shakira’s house (uninvited), she dropped everything to make a full comfort meal of fried chicken, Kool Aid, and nachos that would give the healthiest person diabetes! I don’t remember the boy, but I remember the meal I shared with my best friend! Shakira has one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever encountered, and it fills mine that she found Alex; a rare someone capable of loving just as deeply and completely as Shakira. I have seen the couple treat each other with kindness and care that will last a lifetime. My favorite memory of them is when I saw Alex pick up Shakira from the airport (at the gate of course), and after 36 hours of flights and layovers carrying bags without complaining, she saw Alex and whimpered “Heavyyyy”. Alex immediately sprang into action with a perky “I got it!”, grabbing Shakira’s backpack, suitcase, and juggling them with the flowers she had brought. The only advice I have for this couple is to continue lifting each other up, leading with kindness, compromise, and conjoining personal growth. Fun fact: Like the happy couple, I also have 2 cats (Love and Lilith) whom I adore more than anything else in the world!

Jacob Gonzales

Best Man

Hi, I’m Jacob! A fun fact about me is that I own an African giant millipede named Frank —he’s very docile, and his legs feel like tiny Velcro when he walks on you. (Insects are seriously underrated.) I’ve had the privilege — and the occasional misfortune — of being Alex’s brother for 22 years. One of my favorite memories is when our toddler brother somehow chucked a sippy cup with MLB-level strength straight at Alex’s forehead. Who knew a toddler could throw so hard it required stitches? When it comes to Alex and Shakira, I love the little traditions they share, like apple picking — and I’m already looking forward to this years’! My advice for the newlyweds: always approach conflict as teammates. It’s you and your partner, against the issue, not you against each other! A little more about me: I also have a rabbit named Fred. He’s built like a circle, and the vets say he’s overweight. He would absolutely commit a crime for a banana chip.

Kendra Moore

Bridesmaid

Hello! My name is Kendra and I have known Shakira since 2018 when we attended the same University living in the same dorm. Shakira, Hailey and I were majoring in Special Education at the time. The first time we met, I asked to spend the night in Shakira’s room because my roommate had her boyfriend over. Despite having to work at 4am the next day, Shakira of course let me stay. We’ve been friends ever since! My favorite memory of Shakira was later that year when we went to a Halloween party and I saw her grandma twerk for the first time. When we got back to the dorm, we had to put her Halloween mask back on because we ran into her boss and Shakira was drunk at that point- laughing and tripping on the curbs. Good times! I met Alex in Nashville for my birthday party and I just immediately loved her! Seeing them both happy and having a great time was very heartwarming. My advice for the couple is, Loving each other is a choice you make everyday. Continue reminding each other that you choose that person to love and to hold. Continue loving each other like that first day. Feel that spark, embrace that spark! Know marriage will have its ups and downs, but also know with each other, you can get through anything. I am so incredibly happy for Alex and Shakira for entering this new chapter in their life and so grateful to be a part of it. I love them so much! A fun fact about myself is that I am a 7th Grade Art teacher. I am also an artist myself, and have a few paintings of my own!

Nick Tortorici

Best Man

Hey everyone, I’m Nick — Alex’s younger brother. Fun fact, I was the reason she once needed stitches on her forehead. I was really little, got mad, and threw a sippy cup across the living room. Perfect aim. Since meeting Alex just a few days after I was born, I’ve had the privilege of growing up with the most wonderful, amazing, and loving sister. One of my favorite memories has to be the time I ran out onto the trampoline and… well… decided to pee around Alex and her best friend while they were hanging out. My favorite memories of Alex and Shakira are the times they come over, cook, and just chill at home. Feeling a little piece of the good old days back, and those moments will always stay with me. My advice to the newlyweds is: keep things fun, keep things light whenever you can, and face the tough stuff as a team. Life will throw challenges, but as long as you use each other as a safe, loving outlet, you’ll be unstoppable. I love you both and can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes you! <3

Hailey Zulfaj

Bridesmaid

I have known Shakira since my freshman year of college, which later led us to becoming dorm room neighbors! We all clicked instantly and became so close from the start. From late-night car drives to spontaneous dance sessions, weekend trips home, and all the little college adventures in between, those moments created a friendship that will last a lifetime. One time Shakira, Kendra, and I spent forever trying to nail a specific dance move, Shakira and I completely failed, but we laughed the whole time—it’s still one of my favorite memories! I’ve only had the chance to meet Alex once, but it was so easy to see how perfect they are for each other. I loved watching how happy and relaxed she was around Alex—it was like seeing a whole new glow on her face. You can tell they truly bring out the best in each other! Alex and Shakira should never stop dating each other! Keep doing the little things—grab a late-night snack run, plan spontaneous weekend getaways, or even start a fun tradition like cooking a new recipe together once a week. Marriage is a team effort, and you two already make the best team! Shakira has been one of the most loyal, supportive, and best friends I could ever ask for. I’m so honored to stand by her on her wedding day. Shakira and Alex are truly a perfect match—I can’t wait to see all the amazing things life has in store for them! Fun fact: I’m a total matcha lover and can’t start my day without an iced matcha latte!

Katherine Campuzano

Bridesmaid

I've known Shakira for 3yrs. We met as coworkers back in 22 at one of her previous jobs. One of my favorite memories of Alex and Shakira was when my sister and I went to a park with the both of them. We got chicken wings and played at the park. It was funny seeing all of us alongside actual children swinging on swings and climbing rope. They both had their sweet and corny moments. My favorite memory of Shakira...there's too many! But I guess, when we hung out or something, she needed to pump more gasoline in her car. The music was too good, and I was engrossed with my phone and conversation we were having. We both failed to notice that the car was still on! We died of laughter b/c we thought we could have died that moment. I myself am not married, I don't think I'm qualified to give advice. But! Something they can do together...honestly, they both have different interests. I recommend taking a walk. Outside with nature or even a mall. That way there will always be a moment where they connect. A fun fact...yikes! Um, I'm honestly a Plain Jane, but I love listening to heavy metal and rock.

Brandon McDaniels

Bridesman

Hello, I'm Brandon, a fun fact about me is that I love to DJ. I’ve been doing it since my freshman year of college, and for a few years I even had the chance to DJ at a nightclub. I first met Alex back in 2022 when Iris and I went to the Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up with her, Shakira, and Katherine, and we hit it off right away. Since then, we’ve shared some memories, but one of my favorites has to be our Friendsgiving, sharing whiskey and laughing together. A memory that stands out, that showed just how much love surrounding both Alex and Shakira had to be when we went to a Cubs game with Alex's family. My advice for the couple as they begin this new saga in their life is to play together. Team up for a few rounds of Overwatch, marriage is about being partners loving, laughing and battling together.

Iris Martinez

Bridesmaid

Shakira and I met when we lived in the same dorm at Eastern Illinois University. Since we met in 2018, we have made numerous memories together. One of them being when we worked together; I learned so much from her and loved seeing her passion for optometry shine through her work. A favorite memory of Shakira and Alex is when we went to a Cubbies game. I had a great time watching the game and meeting Alex’s family. Throughout our friendship, I’ve started to focus on painting. I would love to see the soon to be married couple plan crafting dates. Congrats to the both of you, and I’m so excited for your future together!
