The Baarat will assemble outside the groom’s residence for the Sehrabandi ritual. Following this, the Baarat will proceed towards the Mandap entrance accompanied by live dhol and a lot of dancing. At the Mandap entrance, the elders of both the families meet and the bride’s family will perform the Aarti ritual to welcome the Groom and his family in.
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The wedding program begins with the bridal entrance. Once she joins the groom at the mandap, the jaimala ceremony is performed, officially commencing the marriage rituals. The rituals will include kanyadan, panigrahana, and pheras. Upon completion, the newly married couple will receive blessings from the elders. 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The Sangeet event is the time for family and friends to come together to sing, dance, and celebrate the married couple. It will begin with the couple entry followed by a series of performance by friends and family. The evening will transition into a more informal atmosphere of fun and dancing. Dinner will be served served buffet-style, with a variety of traditional Indian dishes. Dress code: Indian Traditional Women: Traditional Indian Lehanga, Suit or Sari | Men: Traditional Indian Sherwanis or Kurtas You can either choose to wear the same outfit from the ceremony or change to another outfit.
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The ceremony begins with the bridal party procession followed by the mass which will include several readings from the holy bible, hymns, and teachings on marriage and love. The couple will exchange vows and rings and will participate in other roman catholic wedding traditions. The couple will receive final blessings from the priests and will lead the recessional out of the church followed by the wedding party and the guests. Dress code: Black tie/Elegant formal Women: Indian attire/Formal midi dress or floor-length gown | Men: Traditional Suit or Tuxedos Be sure to carry your sunglasses
6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
After the ceremony, the wedding party will take some pictures at the church or nearby. Guests are welcome to explore the church or head back to the resort to rest and refresh.
The reception will begin with a wedding march followed by cake cutting, toast, and speeches. The newlyweds will dance their first dance, followed by the father and daughter dance and the other couples. There will also be lots of fun games for everyone to participate in. The reception transitions into a party-like atmosphere, with music and dancing. Toward the end, the bride will change her outfit, from the white gown to a traditional red saree known as “Sado" followed by a couple of Manglorean ceremonies. After 10 pm, the after-party will move indoors to the banquet hall till the music doesn't stop. Dress code: Black tie/Cocktail Women: Indian attire/Evening gown | Men: Traditional Suit or Tuxedos You can either choose to wear the same outfit from the ceremony or change to another outfit.
