Jaime and Shane were introduced by their friends, George + Monica, on August 21, 2017: the first day of Jaime’s Senior year at SEMO when classes were cancelled due to the eclipse being in totality in Cape Girardeau. They became friends that day, got closer when they were in the same online movie class, Shane joined George to watch the Sundancers perform at football games, Jaime would visit Shane at work at Pour House and The Library, and Jaime finally made a move on Shane on NYE 2018. They went on their first official date on January 14, 2018, but Jaime was scared and wasn’t ready for the man she realized could be her husband, and after briefly dating, ended things, graduated, and moved to St. Louis, MO. Fast forward 2 years to October 2020 when Shane reached out to Jaime after seeing that she got laid off from her job on LinkedIn (LOL). They picked up right where they left off and became best friends for about 2 years, and then once again, Jaime was in denial about being in love with Shane, so thank you Paige and Stephany for helping her come to her senses and finally confess her feelings. On May 6, 2022, they officially started dating (again), and after about 2 years and 2 months of dating, Shane pulled off the ultimate surprise and proposed to Jaime during a planned trip “for Shane’s Birthday” at the Riverfront in Cape Girardeau, MO, on June 22, 2024. The surprises continued by Facetiming Jaime’s brother, Zach, then walking to The Library for a celebratory drink and seeing so many of their family and close friends. After 2 years of dating and a year and a half of being engaged, it’s time to make things official! In their time together so far Shane and Jaime, AKA “Shaime” have traveled together in various forms of planes, trains, and automobiles to weddings, holidays, celebrations, trips, and vacations in the US - specifically MO, IL, IA, WI, LA, FL, KY, NY, and OH, as well as internationally in France and Belgium. They love two fur babies, their cats, Miss Kitty and Sweet Pea, and are so excited for this next chapter in their lives as Mr. and Mrs...not to mention looking forward to their delayed honeymoon to Ireland, England, and Scotland in November 2026.
