Question

What is each pre-wedding event?

Answer

Vidhi/Pithi: Vidhi is a collection of Indian prayer ceremonies seeking blessings before the wedding day. Pithi is an event where friends and family apply Haldi/turmeric paste to the bride and groom signifying purification, blessing, and to give them a radiant glow before their wedding day, symbolizing new beginnings and joining of the families. Sangeet/Garba/Mehndi: Sangeet is a lively, vibrant pre-wedding event that unites families with music and dances performed by loved ones. Garba is a traditional Gujarati dance. We will have a Mehndi station for people to get henna on their hands as well.

What should I wear to each event?

Answer

We want you to wear what you feel most comfortable in! We recommend Indian formal, Indo-Western, American semi-formal/formal attire. Our wedding is a celebration of love so we encourage bright, vibrant colors and patterns. We have put together this attire guide to give you ideas and additional detail of what to wear to each event if you choose to purchase Indian outfits. If choosing to order and wear Indian outfits, we recommend custom sizing and ordering ahead of time to ensure proper fitting. https://shorturl.at/dOF1b
