Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited capacity at our venue, our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those formally listed on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, it will appear under your name when you RSVP through the website. We appreciate your understanding.

Are children invited?

Yes, we can’t wait to celebrate with all of the guests and children whom are included on the invites!

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask you to RSVP online by July 19th, 2025.

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Under the registry section of the wedding website, we are registered on Zola and Amazon. Should you wish to buy us something, consider a contribution towards our honeymoon fund as we have a lot of our home furnished.

Smoking?

Answer

There is a small area designated for smoking at our venue, please pick up your cigarette buds as we WILL get charged for each one found on the ground. Thank you!

Are there blocked rooms at a nearby hotel?

Answer

Yes! There are rooms blocked at the Home 2 suites by Hilton. Their address is 13350 6 1/2 Mile Rd, Battle Creek, MI 49014. Call to reserve your room by August 15th, 2025. The group code is: SMW or shaffer wedding.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony is outdoors as well as cocktail hour- while the reception is inside of an open concept barn. There is a backup option on site in case of rain.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi forma or dressy casual attire. Please avoid white, cream, & green colors as these are are the colors of the wedding party.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes there is free parking on site for the ceremony and reception. Please don’t be late or you will be driving behind the ceremony when you pull in ;)

Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Yes, we will be having appetizers and the bar will open during cocktail hour. We will then have catered pulled meat sliders for the main course. The open bar will remain open throughout the night.
