The story of US

How it Began

Originally Thomas and I first met in 7th grade history class. I was not fond of him. He was the class clown that got on my nerves and I was just the girl who was trying to get history class over (it was my least favorite subject). We only talked one time, the day we BOTH got sent out of class by the teacher. We said a total of 15 words to each other and never spoke again that year. Fast forward to 2012 when I was sitting at one of my Maid Of Honors house and my Facebook messenger goes off. "Donika, you'll never guess who sent me a Facebook message...Thomas BLAHA". What I didn't know then was that it was going to be the most important conversation of my life. We talked from December 2012 to March 2013 when he finally asked me to come over and hangout. I showed up, in what Thomas always refers to as my "Green Poncho" long black curled hair and we watched TED. After that, I spent most my days and evenings at his house. May 7th, 2013 he declared me as his girlfriend. Best day of my life. I remember sitting in my room and when he asked (over text messaged might I add), I shreeked a bit...okay.. ALOT to the point my mom ran into my room. "What happened, are you okay?" She asked me. "Mom, Thomas FINALLY asked me out!" The rest is history.

The Proposal

9.15.19

It was a family dinner. My mom and dad had never met Thomas's dad since he lived out of town. He was staying with us for the week and everyone was getting together at our house. The night went on with dinner, dessert and coffee (and lots of champagne) leading up to it. We were sitting next to each other at the dinner table and I turned my head for a second to talk to my brother. The next thing I know I look at him and he is on one knee holding this little black box. Before Thomas could saying a word I blurt out "What the F*@#" and immediately started crying. He asked me to marry him, I was crying so hard but I couldn't say YES fast enough. Just like that, we were engaged.
