And they all lived Happily ever after…

Mecca and Shae met their freshman year of high school through a mutual friend, and lets just say sparks did not fly instantly. In fact there were no sparks at all for the first few years of their friendship! They became great friends throughout high school having classes together, after school snack sessions with their friends as they walk home and later on in high school their fair share of rides home in Rose’s Van. Fast forward a few years to their first weekend at NIU Shae was taking a walk around campus with her Mom and Brother getting ready to say a tear full goodbye when they bumped into Mecca! At the time Shae didn’t know why but she felt an instant sense of calm wash over her as they made plans to go to corn fest later in the evening. From that point on they became pretty inseparable on and off campus. From hanging out between classes meeting up for meals, spending time with friends and endless adventures over the summer breaks and their marathon FaceTime calls. Even if Mecca and Shae didn’t want to admit it somewhere along the way the two best friends had grown quite fond of eachother. They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder and with Shae and Mecca that really was the case. Shae decided to move to Florida for a semester in the Disney college program and Mecca was continuing his studies at NIU. The pair would FaceTime every single night , Just ask Shae’s roommate (Sorry Vivian!). With all of their time apart they realized they were falling in love and wanted to give their relationship a go once they were back in the same city. Fast forward a few years and the pair decided to move in together during COVID which was quite the wild ride for the both of them. Somehow they made it through quarantine and were still crazy about eachother so they decided to make it official. Mecca asked and Shae said yes and now we are here! We can not wait to celebrate these two life long friends tying the knot.
