We’re getting married!!

Lance and Shae flew home to Michigan for the annual Scheidel family Christmas and unbeknownst to Shae, he had a something special in his carry on. To Lance’s horror, his bag was chosen to be manually searched at the security checkpoint. Lance remained calm, cool and collected and played off him tipping off the TSA agent about the ring, making a joke to Shae about having “intimate items” in his bag. Shae’s initial thought of “hmm he looks mighty nervous, I wonder if he has a ring in there?” was quickly lost by that statement. Their trip continued without a hitch until the record breaking snow made Shae continue to change her mind about plans to visit Grand Haven and other meaningful places in West Michigan. Lance was waiting for just the right time and really wanted someone else around to be able to capture the moment. Finally, that day came when on Saturday afternoon, they invited Shae’s long time friend Wes to meet them for lunch at Founders Brewing company downtown. The couple had plans to walk downtown to Rosa Parks Circle after and Lance was able to loop Wes in on his plans to propose. Luckily (and surprisingly lol) Wes agreed to take the walk with us and ended up capturing Lance pop the question and Shae’s stunned reaction! A kind bystander actually saw what was happening and capture the whole thing from a different angle so we have a video AND lots of photos! Shae later said she should’ve been suspicious of Wes wanting to tag along for the trek downtown!
