The Proposal

5 October 2019

That morning, the weather was getting ready to be awful. We had planned on going on a picnic at Noccalula Falls, where we had gone on our second date. The storms started rolling in as soon as we got in the car, but we decided to go on the picnic anyways. We waited in the car for the rain and lightning to let up for almost 30 minutes. It didnt. We left the snacks in the car, took an umbrella, and began the treck to the falls. It hadnt rained in weeks, so, until that morning, there was no water flowing over the falls. We made it to the bottom as the water crashed down for the first time in a long time. We stood there holding eachother. My head was on Blake’s chest and I could tell something was about to happen - his heart was racing! We chatted briefly about our second date, how we both wanted to hold each others hand or waist, even sneak a kiss while sitting on the rocks watching the water. Blake said “maybe this will make up for it” and got down on one knee and did the thing!
